Welcome! I'm Wes, the founder of  Welfare Wise. With over 17 years of extensive experience in policing , policy implementation, safeguarding, and security, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to safeguarding and vulnerability management to the private sector.

My Journey

My career began in Devon and Cornwall Police, where I served as a Response and Neighbourhood Police Constable. My dedication and passion for community engagement and safety led me to transfer to Surrey Police, where I was promoted to Sergeant. In this role, I led local proactive teams, enhanced neighbourhood policing initiatives, and managed response operations. My journey didn't stop there; I transitioned into Custody roles, eventually being promoted to a Critical Incident Inspector. This pivotal role involved managing over 900 square miles, more than 200 resources, and three custody centres, all while handling high-risk incidents, including kidnappings, murders, serious sexual offences, and cases involving high-risk missing persons.

Transition to the Private Sector

After a rewarding tenure in policing, I shifted to the private sector, assuming the role of Policy Lead. Here, I spearheaded the implementation of policies related to safeguarding, vulnerability, and conflict management. My role also involved presenting training, updating, and introducing new training materials aimed at enhancing organisational safety and security practices.
